The Viper 8 is built for easy to control performance. Taking its shape
and fit from the all new Viper series the Viper 8 gives a tight,
precision, performance fit in a boot trimmed for intermediate to casual
advanced skiers. Due to overall fit of the Viper 8 it is also very
suitable for aggressive advanced skiers that are simply lightweight.
The Viper 8 follows the current trend in ski boots, borrowing from
Dalbello's race series, using True Balance Stance. TBS is a system of
choosing all the stance, foot, and leg angles to give a centered and
balanced feel for optimal response with modern ski shapes both cambered
and rockered. When paired with a 90 flex shell and cuff this system
makes the Viper 8 a very accessible performance boot. To help with the
overall fit the Viper 8 is stripped down to a few key pieces. Four
microadjustable buckles dial in the pressure through out the foot, shaft
alignment make sure the leg fits properly in line , and an adjustable
height cuff spoiler fine tunes the calf fit. While these all tweak the
Viper 8 the majority of it's versatile fit come from the Contour 4 fit
concept, focusing in on the four major problem areas in ski boots, the
nevicular, the heel pocket, the 5th metatarsal, and the midfoot, through
foot mapping and proper shaping of the inner shell. This is then
filled in with the Trufit Sport liner, to offer a good cushioned feel
but remain reasonably responsive, because all this technology serves no
purpose if the liner is mush. At a scant 100mm wide the Viper 8 is a
roomy toed, incredibly versatile boot.
